WP Wishlist Alternative
I have spoken about (and loved) WP Wishlist. I’s a great tool. I recently purchased through membershipcube.com WP-Drip which allows me to drip posts to members (which makes them stick around). In a nutshell, I found a better product. That product is Digital Access Pass.
Why am I switching? Let me tell you
Easy WordPress Dripping
When it comes to Wishlist alternatives, it is more expensive but it has many more features. The one that got me was the ability to drip content easily. The great thing about membership sites that drip content is once you get your content in WordPress, you can have it time released over time. The bonus of this is a member who does not get a giant stack of information to dig out from underneath. You also don’t have member who signs up, downloads everything, and moves on. You can easily select one or multiple posts/pages and choose when you want them dripped. With WP-Drip I had to watch the days I published, then plan and set up categories. With Digital Access Pass it absolutely super easy to drip (and I don’t have to sit through the WP-Drip folks trying to sell me their other products on a daily basis).
It integrates all over the place.
Digital Access Pass integrates with Aweber, with Paypal, with Clickbank, 1Shopping Cart – it integrates.
Built in Affiliate Program
When a member signs up they are instantly granted access to affiliate tools so they can start promoting your site. You can easily set up your affiliate area, and have people see the affiliate area, and nothing else.
Organized Products
When people purchase multiple products, they are grouped by product. Making it super easy to continue on their journey of consuming your content.
Great Customer Service
How many products do you know with a phone number where you can call the lead developer? I thought it was a hoax. When I called with a few answers, I got a person and answers immediately. Customer service is no joke here, and they put their money with their mouth is. I was worried as their website makes it look like this is a one man operation, but it turns out there is a team of programmers who are behind the project.
It installed in a few minutes, and they plenty of documentation to get you going. My first impression is two thumbs up. While Wishlist is a great product, the drip and affiliate program make this THE memberhsip script for WordPress. Is it more expensive? yes, but if you buy Wishlist and a separate program like iDevaffiliate you going to putting out just as much.
Event Registration Plugin
I’ve been using Eventbrite.com in the past anytime I need to limit the number of people that could attend an event (like a webinar). It allows you to charge, or offer free registration. If you charge, there is a fee. You can email attendees, offer coupons, and more. I’ve had no complaints about eventbrite.com (to complain about their fees is to stop them from making a living).
I just happened to search for an event registration program for WordPress and came up with a home run. It’s oddly enough called “Event Registration.”
It allows you to capture the registering persons contact information to a database and provides an association to an events database. It provides the ability to send the register to either a Paypal, Google Pay, or Authorize.net online payment site for online collection of event fees. Additionally it allows support for checks and cash payments. Detailed payment management system to track and record event payments. Reporting features provide a list of events, list of attendees, and excel export. Events can be created in an Excel spreadsheet and uploaded via the event upload tool. Dashboard widget allows for quick reference to events from the dashboard. Inline menu navigation allows for ease of use.
In a nutshell. It’s cool.
The thing I liked about it is if you have a free event, you can have the system take the registered user to a page where they can (or not) donate money.
Listing your events on your website has many options as well. You can set up categories for your events and then list all the events on that category. You can have a MASTER list of ALL events, or you can set it up so that each event has its own page. Maintenance is a piece of cake as the events are automatically pulled for your site when the date passes (I told you it was cool).
If you are selling your registration, the only fees you pay are the ones through your payment processor (so your paypal fees).
